GDC Film Night @ Wujie – Vegucated

Green Drinks China, Shanghai Veggie Club & Wujie will be hosting their 2nd Movie Night on Tuesday, March 19th from 6:45pm onwards.  At these film screening events, geared to invoke environmentalism, a healthier life style and support underprivileged children; we will be showing Vegucated, an award-winning, guerrilla-style documentary that follows three meat- and cheese-loving New Yorkers who agree to adopt a vegan diet for six weeks.  The movie will end with a discussion led by Annie Taylor, founder of the Shanghai Veggie Club (SHVC), a vegan expert, vegetarian chef and advocator of vegetarianism in China.

Guests can enjoy this provocative movie in the comfort of the DaShuWuJie’s intimate 5^th floor dining area. Healthy juices and specials dinner set menus will be available throughout the night; accompanied by an open-table discussion after the movie that aims to have everyone talking!

Movie Summary 

Part sociological experiment and part adventure comedy, Vegucated follows three meat- and cheese-loving New Yorkers who agree to adopt a vegan diet for six weeks. Lured by tales of weight lost and health regained, they begin to uncover the hidden sides of animal agriculture that make them wonder whether solutions offered in films like Food, Inc. go far enough. This entertaining documentary showcases the rapid and at times comedic evolution of three people who discover they can change the world one bite at a time.
